Reston Zoo director Meghan Mogensen, 26, of Silver Spring, Maryland, was arrested by Fairfax County police on Friday.

Ms Mogensen has also been charged with improper possession of euthanasia drugs after a four month investigation into the Kangaroo-like creature’s killing, according to Patch.com …
But police said the Reston Zoo doesn’t have the training or certification to euthanise its animals.
A former northern Virginia animal control officer, who didn’t want to be named, told NBC News that the zoo was stupid to administer euthanasia drugs without a permit or a vet.
‘It’s extremely regulated,’ she said. ‘These drugs are not given out to anybody. If it’s a zoo, they have to have a vet on staff …’
