Today (26th July), the not-so Great British Circus will be opening in Clacton on Sea in Essex where, apparently, their shows will run until the 12th August. This circus still uses animals in its shows.
The circus is at CLACTON AIRFIELD, WEST ROAD, CLACTON-ON-SEA, ESSEX CO15 1AG.
Protests are planned outside the road entrance to the circus at the following dates/times:
THURSDAY 26th JULY, 6 pm
SATURDAY 28th JULY, 4.00 pm
SUNDAY 29th JULY, 9.00 am
SATURDAY 4th AUGUST, 4.00 pm
SUNDAY 5th AUGUST, 9.00 am
SATURDAY 11th AUGUST, 4.00 pm
SUNDAY 12th AUGUST, 1.00 pm for the FINAL SHOW at 2pm
Jane, the organiser, says: ‘PLEASE BRING BANNERS, POSTERS AND LEAFLETS IF YOU HAVE THEM BUT, MORE IMPORTANTLY, YOURSELF, FRIENDS, FAMILY, RELATIVES AND ANYONE ELSE!! THE MORE PEOPLE THE GREATER THE IMPACT IN GETTING OUR MESSAGE ACROSS – HOPEFULLY THIS WILL BE THE LAST YEAR OF PROTESTS AND A COMPLETE BAN WILL BE INTRODUCED AND THIS ARCHAIC FORM OF ENTERTAINMENT WILL BE BANISHED TO THE HISTORY BOOKS!!’.
