Today (25th August) is the second anniversary of the start-up of PS…it’s vegan in Colchester, Essex in the UK. PS…it’s vegan is a small local business run by Jen, a successful vegan baking and cake-making enterprise which is well supported by vegans and non-vegans alike! Jen started off with cupcakes and cupcake bouquets but has now expanded into making mini cup cakes, gourmet cupcakes, cookies, muffins, cake pops, chocolates, cakes and novelty/celebration cakes, and cheesecakes. These are all delicious and gorgeous to look at, and 100% vegan, suitable for any occasion or just a private treat…

Now producing fruity summer cupcakes for the season, Jen designs themed cupcakes and cakes for any event, like Valentine’s Day, and for any celebration, like birthdays, children’s birthdays, anniversaries, etc. She has done some amazing commissions – a designer handbag cake, a camera cake, a Little Miss Sunshine cake are just a few of her designs. There is a huge selection of cakes and flavours but, if you want a cake which isn’t in her gallery, Jen says please contact her and she will try to help. There is also a ‘create your own’ section on the cupcake page…

PS…it’s vegan has a web-site and a Facebook page which are regularly updated by Jen with new products, new flavours and designs, promotions and photo.s of commissions. You can join the PS…it’s vegan mailing list and receive a regular e-newsletter. The new veggie food stall (the Treehouse) in Colchester market sells ‘baked goodies’ (not cupcakes) by Jen every Saturday – and, yes, that means today, if you are in town! Otherwise you can place an order and collect direct from Jen.

Jen says: ‘… As I celebrate two years of PS…it’s vegan, I have been thinking about the best part of running a vegan business… and I would say it has definitely been all the people that I’ve met that I might not have otherwise.  Through networking with local vegan groups and on Facebook I’ve met some really nice people, and it’s so nice to know that the majority of my customers share the same ethics and outlook as I do (which is something you don’t necessarily get with other businesses!). I really didn’t know when I started out whether there would be any demand for vegan cakes in Colchester, but there clearly is. I have good regular customers, and have  become good friends with some of the people that I’ve met through PS…it’s vegan. Thank you to all my customers! …’.

Go to the PS…it’s vegan web-site at www.psitsvegan.co.uk/ and join the Facebook page at www.facebook.com/psitsvegan

Many thanks and congratulations to Jen! – and continued success.
