Ramsgate: protests against live animal exports

Posted on October 23, 2012

Yesterday (22nd October) and today (23rd October), protests were held at Ramsgate Port in Kent at the morning sailings of cargo ship the Joline, carrying shipments of live animals. Live animal exports resumed at Ramsgate on the 19th October. Livestock animals are transported and exported in horrific conditions.

Compassion in World Farming is campaigning against live animal exports and the RSPCA is opposed to live animal exports;  there is also a ‘Stop live exports from the port of Ramsgate’ campaign on Facebook. The campaigning group Kent Action Against Live Exports holds protests at ports in Kent when shipments of live animals are taken through.
