Remembrance for Animals in War: today, 11th November

Today (11th November), is Remembrance Sunday. At 10.30am today, the annual Act of Remembrance for Animals in War will take place at ‘the Animals War Memorial’, Brookes Gate, off Park Lane, London (nearest Tube station is Marble Arch).

The event is listed on the Veggies AR calendar: ‘… [It] will include the ‘forgotten animal conscripts of war’ in our nation’s 2 minutes’ silence. Any who wish to lay flowers or wreaths are most welcome; as well as to have them blessed!

A short Address will be given. Worship will be led by 2 Anglican priests: the Reverend George O’Chola Of Watford; & to assist him, the Animal Padre – James Thompson from North Wales. ‘Everyone is most welcome!’.

There will also be three Animals’ Remembrance events in Nottingham; at 10.30am at the War Memorial, Trent Embankment, Nottingham and at 11.45 at the Burton Joyce War Memoria, Nottingham, followed by an event at Southwell Cathedral.
